Tailoring I

Course Description:

Tailoring I is a 40-clock-hour course in the Fashion Study Program. In this course, students will learn how to properly line three types of garments.

8-Week Agenda

Week One

• Introduction to the class

• Learn skirt lining techniques for a basic skirt

• Create lining samples

• Cut fabric for the basic skirt and lining

Week Two

• Work on the lined basic skirt

Week Three

• Finalize the lined basic skirt project

• Submit the lined basic skirt project

Week Four

• Learn how to sew a lined pants zipper

• Create a sample lined pants zipper

• Cut fabric for pants and lining

Week Five

• Work on lined pants

Week Six

• Finalize the lined pants

• Submit the lined pants project

Week Seven

• Draft a Chanel-style jacket

• Cut fabric for the Chanel-style jacket

Week Eight

• Finalize the Chanel-style jacket

• Submit the Chanel-style jacket
