Course Description:

Interior Drapery is a 40-clock-hour course in the Fashion Study Program. In this course, students will create samples of various home décor items, including pillows, table toppers, and drapery styles such as rod pocket with header, gathered panels, and flat panel self-valances.

8-Week Agenda

Week One

  • Introduction to the class

  • Table topper: cut and create a sample

  • Round table skirt: cut and create a sample

Week Two

  • Diagonal four-square pillow: cut and create a sample

  • Bolster with sewn ends: cut and create a sample

Week Three

  • Waterfall bolster pillow: cut and create a sample

Week Four

  • Rod pocket with header: cut and create a sample

Week Five

  • Scalloped valance with pointed sides: cut and create a sample

Week Six

  • Swag and cascade (jabot) on board: cut and create a sample

Week Seven

  • Geometric valance: cut and create a sample

Week Eight

  • Soft cornice: cut and create a sample
