Coutour Design III

Course Description:

Couture III is a 40-clock-hour course in the Fashion Study Program. In this course, students will draft and construct various garments, including capes, a bolero jacket, and a formal dress.

8-Week Agenda

Week One

• Introduction to the class

• Draft the following:

  • Fitted cape

  • Full cape

  • Formal dress

  • Bolero jacket

Week Two

• Draft a separate raglan sleeve jacket

• Cut fabric for the fitted cape

• Cut fabric for the full cape

Week Three

• Cut fabric for the formal dress and bolero jacket

• Begin work on the fitted cape

Week Four

• Finalize the fitted cape

• Continue work on the full cape

Week Five

• Finalize the full cape

• Submit the fitted cape

• Submit the full cape

• Continue work on the formal dress with a bolero jacket

Week Six

• Continue work on the formal dress with a bolero jacket

Week Seven

• Finalize the formal dress with a bolero jacket

Week Eight

• Submit the formal dress with a bolero jacket
