Body Draping II

Course Description:

Body Draping II is a 40-clock-hour course in the Fashion Study Program. In this course, students will drape a bustier foundation, a basic halter dress, a sweetheart fitted dress, and a formal dress. Each student will complete a fully lined bustier and a fully lined formal dress.

8-Week Agenda

Week One

• Introduction to the class

• Drape:

  • Wrap blouse with collar (front and back)

  • Bustier foundation bodice

• Create patterns on paper:

  • Wrap blouse with collar (front and back)

  • Bustier foundation bodice

• Cut fabric for the bustier foundation bodice

Week Two

• Drape:

  • Basic halter dress

• Create patterns on paper:

  • Basic halter dress

• Cut fabric for the sweetheart fitted dress

Week Three

• Drape:

  • One-shoulder formal party dress

• Create patterns on paper:

  • One-shoulder formal party dress

• Cut fabric for the one-shoulder formal party dress

Week Four

• Work on the bustier foundation bodice

• Work on the sweetheart fitted dress

Week Five

• Continue work on the bustier foundation bodice

• Continue work on the sweetheart fitted dress

Week Six

• Continue work on the bustier foundation bodice

• Continue work on the sweetheart fitted dress

Week Seven

• Continue work on the bustier foundation bodice

• Continue work on the sweetheart fitted dress

Week Eight

• Finalize the bustier foundation bodice

• Submit the bustier foundation bodice

• Finalize the sweetheart fitted dress

• Submit the sweetheart fitted dress
